A stream link is a three day ban now, not a removal. We went round this last Sunday and I am not doing it again.

Four and a half. We won by twenty eight last week and the number came out at four and a half, which tells you what the market thought of Jacksonville and not what it thinks of us
u/HalfCourtHeave1 point21h
I took the points again and I felt insane doing it twice in eight days
u/Vermilion_Vince๐dawg1 point21h
Because we are the Browns
u/Marnie_Kozak๐งbrownie-elf1 point21h
My husband has decided he is not watching the first quarter. He is doing the gutters and coming in at twenty to two. Thirty one years and he has never done this once. When I asked why he said he did not want to see it start badly, and I have made far too much food
u/CribbageBoard_๐lake-erie-bros1 point21h
Most Cleveland thing I will read today and it is one oclock
u/Marnie_Kozak๐งbrownie-elf1 point20h
He came in at 1:52 and it was 7-7. He said he would like his gutters back
u/PortageLakes_๐Baghead1 point21h
Watching at my sisters, my cable got shut off Thursday and I am not explaining that further
u/Sixty_Watt_Bulb1 point21h
Enjoy the game man
u/second_shift_samGPODAWUND1 point21h
Is Hopkins playing today
u/Bertrand_Ohio321 point21h
He is active. Nobody is out. Owusu-Koramoah is on reserve PUP for the year and that is the entire list, same as last week
u/second_shift_samGPODAWUND1 point21h
Thank you
Q1 10:15 · TB 7 — CLE 0 · McMillan 36 yd from Mayfield
u/OrangeExtensionCord1 point20h
Judkins puts it on the ground on our own forty and five plays later its seven nothing. Four minutes of football
u/StormDoorSlam1 point20h
Savage was eleven yards off him and still got beat inside. I dont understand what that coverage was asking of him
u/Quarry_Lane_1 point20h
He was in man. There was nobody over the top of him at all
u/BasementCarpet1 point20h
here we go
Q1 7:24 · TIED 7-7 · Judkins 8 yd run
u/Hough_Bakery_1 point20h
Judkins fumbles it away and then walks it in from the eight four minutes later, which is the most Quinshon Judkins thing possible and I would die for him
u/Nine_Volt_Battery1 point20h
Thought Sampson would go in. Nope
u/DeadSpiderPlant1 point20h
Vea just threw Brailsford about four yards backward on a run that had nowhere to go anyway
Q1 2:25 · TB 14 — CLE 7 · Godwin 87 yd from Mayfield
u/CoolerFullOfIce2 points20h
We pin them on the twelve with a perfect punt and then Godwin runs eighty seven yards through the middle of our secondary on the very first snap. Eighty seven. From their own twelve
u/HandmeDownJersey1 point20h
one week. we got one week
u/Denny_VitaleHaslam is a football terrorist2 points20h
This is the game I said would happen and I am getting no pleasure from being right about it. Last week was a team that quit. This is a team that can throw
u/Elyria_Ed1 point20h
its 14-7 in the first quarter
u/Denny_VitaleHaslam is a football terrorist1 point20h
Its 14-7 in the first quarter and our boundary corner has given up a hundred and fifty yards in nine minutes. Both of those are on the screen
Q1 0:02 · TIED 14-14 · Fannin 17 yd from Sanders
u/ChurchFestivalChuckera ended2 points20h
Ninety second drive with two seconds left in the quarter and the tight end walks in from seventeen. Nobody has told this football team that it is supposed to fold and I am asking somebody to keep not telling them
u/BoxFanSeason1 point20h
Sheduer went five for five on that drive with a 340 pound man living in his lap the whole way
u/CoffeeCanOfNails๐งModel Citizen1 point20h
Shedeur. One d. Sorry, its been driving me insane all week
u/BoxFanSeason1 point20h
Ive been spelling it wrong since the draft and Im not stopping now

THE FULLBACK. WE HAVE A FULLBACK AND THEY GAVE HIM THE BALL ON THE ONE AND HE SCORED
u/EdgewaterEddie๐ฆt-rex2 points20h
Michael Burton is thirty four and has been in the league twelve years and I had never once thought about him before this moment and now I would take a bullet
u/CarWashTokens1 point20h
who
u/EdgewaterEddie๐ฆt-rex1 point20h
34, fullback, signed in August. He has played about eleven snaps in two weeks and one of them was that
u/Sandusky_Sandy1 point20h
They have gone into some sort of zone thing and Mayfield keeps holding it and looking around. Im not a schemes person but he looks confused and he did not fifteen minutes ago
u/Quarry_Lane_2 points20h
You are describing it correctly. They stopped playing man, they are dropping eight sometimes and sending pressure from places he cannot see, and everything looks the same to him before the snap. Whoever made that call made it inside about six minutes of real time
Q2 4:10 · CLE 24 — TB 14 · Szmyt 30 yd FG
u/DollarShowMovie1 point20h
First trip inside the twenty five we have not scored seven on. Szmyt from thirty. Boring
Q2 0:02 · CLE 30 — TB 14 · Fannin 2 yd run, PAT BLOCKED
u/Ohio_Turnpike_47๐rally-opossum9 points19h
They just blocked the extra point on a thirty to fourteen scoreline in the last two seconds of the half and it is somehow the most Browns moment of the entire afternoon. We are up sixteen. Sixteen. A number we have arrived at by having an extra point blocked
u/StarterJacket892 points19h
I laughed out loud alone in my house. Sixteen point lead. Cannot leave well enough alone
Halftime · CLE 30 — TB 14
u/Nickel_Plate_Road28 points19h
Thirty to fourteen at half after the worst ten minutes of defense I have seen from a Cleveland team in years, and I do not know what I am watching. Last week I could tell myself Jacksonville quit. Tampa has not quit. They just cannot do anything now and somebody in that building did that to them on purpose
u/Marnie_Kozak๐งbrownie-elf2 points19h
This is the exact thing my husband said with a plate in his hand and neither of you sound happy about it
u/Nickel_Plate_Road2 points19h
I am delighted. I am also unwell. Both fit in the one afternoon
u/Denny_VitaleHaslam is a football terrorist1 point19h
Tampa gave up fifty last week too. That is the other half of the sentence and nobody in this thread wants it
Q3 9:32 · CLE 37 — TB 14 · Sanders 15 yd run
u/OldBrooklynOllieFactory of Sadness52 points19h
He pulled it down on third and eight, went straight up the middle of a defense that had nine men playing pass, and outran the safety to the pylon from fifteen. Then he flipped the ball at a linesman and walked off like he had lost a bet. Thirty seven to fourteen in Tampa
u/Ravenna_Rick2 points19h
Last year he threw seven scores and ten picks and finished at 18.9 in QBR, below all but four seasons out of nearly seven hundred. I could recite that in my sleep in January. It is going stale on me
u/Bertrand_Ohio321 point19h
Five for five in the red zone. Seven points every trip except the field goal
Q3 2:06 · CLE 44 — TB 14 · Boston 17 yd from Sanders
u/Twinsburg_Tanya๐งคward118 points19h
DENZEL BOSTON. He boxed McCollum out like a power forward, went up over the top of him and came down with both feet in bounds with a man draped across his back. That is the catch of the season and it is week two and it happened on our team
u/PowerWasherPam3 points19h
Second round rookie nobody talked about in April because everyone was shouting about the tenth pick, and he has a hundred and five yards
u/Sandusky_Sandy2 points19h
Boston and Concepcion. I do not think we have ever had two rookie receivers at once who were both this good. Not in my lifetime and I am fifty two
u/BiltmoreDoug1 point19h
We have never had one, so two is a bit of a leap
u/Sandusky_Sandy1 point19h
Ok that is fair and also very rude
Q4 · CLE 47 — TB 14 · Szmyt 45 yd FG
u/CarpetedBathroom1 point19h
Mayfield has thrown three picks. Three. Schwesinger has two of them and looks like he knows where the ball is going before Baker does
u/Two_Stroke_Trimmer2 points19h
Eleven tackles, four for loss, a sack and two interceptions. That is not a linebacker game that is a video game file
u/OvenMittBandit1 point19h
Schwessinger is 23 years old and wears the green dot. Twenty three

This organization has employed four general managers, nine head coaches, a man who moved the team and a man who owned truck stops, and what finally worked was hiring somebody off a phone screen who has not stood in a huddle in his life. Fifty four points in Tampa. None of us are okay

I would like to say something about Darnell Savage. He was humiliated in front of the country for ten minutes, on a stage he only got in August because somebody asked him to change positions at thirty. Every staff I have watched takes that man off the field and lets the cameras see them do it. They left him out there, changed what they were asking of him, and he finished with an interception. I do not know a thing about coverages and I know exactly what I watched
u/Denny_VitaleHaslam is a football terrorist17 points18h
This is the one that is hardest for me. I have been against this whole thing since January and I do not have an answer for that sequence
u/Marnie_Kozak๐งbrownie-elf4 points18h

u/Bertrand_Ohio3296 points18h
477 yards, 6.8 a play, 26 first downs, seven red zone touchdowns on eight trips, four for four on fourth down, one sack allowed, two punts, three penalties. And 84 rushing yards on 29 carries. Every number on that sheet is from a different football team
u/Vinyl_Siding_Vic2 points18h
Five of thirteen on third down as well. We were awful on third down and scored fifty four because we went four for four on fourth and never left the red zone without seven
u/StarterJacket8976 points18h
Baker Mayfield threw four interceptions against the Cleveland Browns and I do not know where to put my feelings about that man. Twenty years from now I will still not know
u/BuckeyeChuckDayChubb Chubb Nick10 points18h
He is the only good thing that happened here between 1999 and this month and we ran him out of town for a guy we then paid a quarter of a billion dollars to. Of course he threw four picks at us. What else was ever going to happen
u/Tremont_Terri๐flaccodragon156 points18h
Tampa Bay did not convert a third down all day and never entered the red zone after the first quarter. Todd Bowles has called his own defense for five years because he will not hire a coordinator and has now given up eighty six points in two weeks, most in football
u/PortageLakes_๐Baghead2 points18h
Both of our first two opponents are 0-2. Say it now before somebody else does
u/EdgewaterEddie๐ฆt-rex23 points18h
Max Iheanachor was on an island all day against a first round pass rusher for the second Sunday running and I cannot find a rep where he lost. Hines-Allen last week, Rueben Bain today. He was called the biggest reach of the draft in April by every single person with a microphone
u/HalfCourtHeave4 points18h
Two for two against first rounders and no pressures allowed either week. I keep waiting for the other shoe
u/OvenMittBandit2 points18h
Both tackles were left alone all afternoon because the guards were doubling Vea on every snap and both of them held up. That is the whole reason we could throw it

Nothing worth typing out again
u/PowerWasherPam2 points17h
Concepcion had seven catches, three carries and three punt returns and he leads the league in punt return average and everybody in here is talking about the other rookie. Both of them. Both of them are good
u/second_shift_samGPODAWUND4 points17h
Real question, not a bit. What is a green dot. I have heard it about Schwesinger four times today
u/Quarry_Lane_29 points17h
Green sticker on the back of the helmet. It marks the one defensive player who has a radio in his ear, so he is the guy the coordinator talks to and he relays the call to everybody else. There is one on offense too, usually the quarterback. It is a big deal to give it to a second year player
u/second_shift_samGPODAWUND2 points17h
That makes so much more sense than what I had assumed. Thank you

u/ChurchFestivalChuckera ended-31 points17h
We learned that when it went badly they fixed it inside a quarter, which is the exact thing we have never once done. And I am tired of pretending that is nothing so that people like you can feel measured.

Somebody came back into our group chat tonight after four years and I have not been able to do anything sinceFandom
Six of us. Started in 2014 when three of us worked at a place that does not exist any more, and it has run ever since with nobody deciding it should. Weddings, a funeral, a lot of arguing about the third quarterback.
In 2022 two of them stopped posting in it. No announcement. One said one thing about the trade and then stopped answering on Sundays, and after a while we stopped tagging him because it felt like we were making him say something.
Tonight at 4:38 the second one typed in it for the first time since March 2022. He wrote the score. 54-14. That is the whole message. The four of us who never left have put about two hundred messages under it and he has not typed again and none of us are asking him to.
I do not have a point. I have been sitting here since six.

Four of us have not been in the same room since 2016. Two states, a divorce, and one guy who quit drinking so we stopped inviting him to things without ever once deciding to. The chat is the entire friendship now and it has been for years and none of us has ever said that out loud. Today it ran six hours. At one point Rick typed WHO IS MICHAEL BURTON in all capitals and it took the four of us eleven minutes to sort it out and I had to put the phone face down on the counter
u/Marnie_Kozak๐งbrownie-elf49 points15h
The eleven minutes is the whole thing. Nobody could find him because nobody thought to look at fullback

As a Sheffield Wednesday supporter this is the most familiar thing I have read on this website. Half our lot went in 2020 when it all went wrong at the top and they have drifted back one at a time and nobody says anything when they do. You just make room and carry on the conversation

I am going to talk everybody down and I am going to do it with numbersDiscussion
Every Sunday for twenty six years I have watched this subreddit find a reason. Every one of them was real and every one of them was gone by Halloween. So, in order, before anybody prints a shirt.
1. Jacksonville are 0-2. Tampa Bay are 0-2. Our two opponents have not beaten anybody, including each other, and we have not played a team with a winning record.
2. Tampa have now allowed 86 points, most in football. Todd Bowles has refused to hire a defensive coordinator for five years and calls it himself. We hung fifty four on a defense that is currently the worst one in the league by its own numbers.
3. We were 5 for 13 on third down. Five. In a fifty four point game. It did not matter because we went 4 for 4 on fourth, and that is not something you get to keep.
4. 29 carries, 84 yards, 2.9 a pop. One man. Vea had ten tackles, six for loss, a sack and four hits on the quarterback while taking on two and three blockers. Johnson, Brailsford and Jenkins were beaten for the second straight week and Jenkins is paid like a solution.
5. Both of our tackles were left alone and both were fine, which is the one thing on this list I cannot argue with, and I have tried.
6. $117.6 million of dead money is on this cap, will be there in December, and is why the middle of that line looks the way it does.
7. Carolina beat Atlanta by a lot and comes to our building on Sunday. Then Pittsburgh on a Thursday. Ask me again on the second of October.
Before I typed any of this I opened a ticket site and looked up October 1. Upper corner, three seats together, and I sat there until the page timed out on me. I did not buy anything. I looked.
Edit: point five is being read as me being positive. It is not. It is the one thing I could not find a hole in.

You wrote seven paragraphs of evidence and then told on yourself in two sentences at the bottom and that is the most honest thing anyone has posted here all year
u/Bertrand_OhioOP3273 points14h
I was not going to include it and then I thought it would be dishonest to leave it out
u/CoolerFullOfIce6 points14h
Three seats together means you were pricing it for other people. You had already decided who was coming
u/Bertrand_OhioOP3226 points13h
My son and my father in law and that is enough out of you

Point four is the one I would put on a billboard. We scored fifty four and could not move a man off the ball. In two weeks that interior has been beaten by a good defensive tackle and then a great one, and in October somebody ordinary will do it and everybody will act surprised
u/Quarry_Lane_10 points14h
Where I would push back slightly. They knew by the second quarter that they could not run it and they went to quick game and RPOs instead of spending the afternoon proving a point about it. That is not nothing
u/ChurchFestivalChuckera ended176 points14h
I am not being talked down and I would rather say why than just downvote. I am fifty one. I have had two Septembers in my life where I looked forward to a Sunday and one of them is going on now. Everything on that list might be right. In November when you turn out to be right I will have had eight weeks of this and you will have had eight weeks of typing lists

Last Sunday this comment was one guy on his own getting told to go outside. Today there are forty of them and they are winning the thread and that is what is actually scaring me
u/Fishing_WeightsHaslam has always been the problem.-9 points13h
Honestly the fourth down thing is a gimmick and it will get somebody killed in a close game. You cannot go for it four times against a real team. That is a coach who does not respect field position and it is going to cost us a game we should win.
u/Quarry_Lane_2 points13h
Two of the four were inside their own thirty five and one was on fourth and inches. That is not a gimmick, it is just arithmetic that has been public for about fifteen years
u/Fishing_WeightsHaslam has always been the problem.-21 points12h
Every coach who has done this has stopped doing it by December. Every one. Look it up.

I went back through Tampa's drives to work out what actually changed after the Godwin touchdown, and I am not confident about a lot of thisDiscussion
Standing disclaimer. I am a guy with a laptop and the broadcast angle, and half of what I am about to say is me guessing at what people were told to do from where they ended up standing. If somebody who knows this comes in and takes it apart I will be pleased rather than annoyed.
First nine minutes. Savage is in man on the outside on basically every snap I can find and the safety help goes the other way twice. On the 36 yarder there is nobody within fifteen yards of him. On the 87 he loses inside and then misses the tackle at the thirty five, so a bad rep turns into all of it.
From Tampa's fourth possession on, three things look different. Savage is playing off, seven or eight yards, turning his hips to run instead of sitting on the route. The safeties stop rotating before the snap and start rotating after it, which is why Mayfield's eyes go to the wrong place on the first pick. And there are four or five snaps where everybody stands in the same spot and then two men walk out and a linebacker walks in.
Two sacks all day and I counted somewhere between eleven and fourteen real pressures, with Mayfield sliding the protection the wrong way about half the time. Schwesinger comes free twice from the same alignment on two different calls.
They made everything look the same and then made him wrong afterwards. I do not know the name for that and I would like to.

I understood maybe half of this and I still enjoyed it more than the highlight thread. Thank you for doing it
u/Ohio_Turnpike_47๐rally-opossum6 points12h
The bit about the safeties rotating after the snap instead of before it is the thing I could see with my own eyes and could not describe. That is exactly what it looked like
u/HalfCourtHeave7 points12h
Small correction and I am not trying to be that guy. What you describe at the end is usually called zone pressure or simulated pressure. Everybody walks around, you show six coming, four come and the other two drop into the throwing lanes. It wrecks a quarterback because he sets the protection before the snap and there is no way to be right
u/Quarry_Lane_OP2 points12h
That is the phrase, thank you
u/second_shift_samGPODAWUND2 points12h
Dumb question. When you say he was playing off, is that just standing further back
u/Quarry_Lane_OP2 points12h
Yes. Off means starting seven or eight yards back instead of right on top of the receiver. You give up the short throw on purpose so nothing gets behind you. It is the coward option and it is also the correct option when a man has just been beaten twice
u/BasementCarpet1 point12h
So was it Mansour or Rutenberg who made the call. Genuine question, I have seen people say both
u/Quarry_Lane_OP2 points12h
Nobody outside that headset knows and every man in here will answer it confidently anyway. Rutenberg calls the defense. That is the only fact available
u/OvenMittBandit1 point11h
Riddick said basically that on TV tonight, that it comes off a headset with five people on it and never one man
u/CementTruck_1 point11h
Eleven to fourteen pressures and two sacks. Is that good or bad
u/HalfCourtHeave2 points11h
Very good. Sacks are noisy, pressure survives week to week. Two sacks and fourteen pressures beats five sacks and six pressures
u/Bertrand_Ohio321 point10h
0 for 11 on third down and no red zone trips after the first quarter. Your post is why those two numbers exist and mine is the receipt

Urban Meyer on us this morning. Posting the whole thing because the clip going round has the back half cut off and it changes what he saidDiscussion
The Triple Option, six a.m. Four questions, a little over nine minutes. This is the part everybody is screenshotting:
"But that's not the job. Rob. That is not the job. That's three and a half hours. The job is the other hundred and sixty-four, and nothing in this man's life has put him near the other hundred and sixty-four."
And this is what is being cut off it:
"Outstanding. They quit playing man, they put people over the top of everything, and then they made him throw underneath it for two hours, and he did. That is elite in-game work. I'd love to know the name of the man who did that, and I'll bet you anything he's fifty-some years old and has had his family in five states and you have never heard of him. Somebody in Cleveland is a heck of a football coach."
He also said he hopes we get a football team and that he has never met the man. Both halves are on the same tape.

Leaving this up. Take the arguing about his Jacksonville year to the other thread and keep it off individual users. Six reports on this so far and none of them are going anywhere.
u/Vermilion_Vince๐dawg488 points3h
The second half is why the clip is cut. He watched the same twelve minutes we did, he was right about all of it, he called it elite work, and then he assumed it came from a fifty five year old man who has moved his family five times. It did not occur to him that it could be the guy whose name is on the door
u/OldBrooklynOllieFactory of Sadness104 points3h
And it might have been. Rutenberg calls that defense. Meyer might be describing an actual person who exists
u/Vermilion_Vince๐dawg188 points3h
Sure. He also does not know that and did not check and said it on television anyway
u/Denny_VitaleHaslam is a football terrorist289 points3h
Somebody in here should say he is right so it may as well be me. The ten eighty ten thing is real. Telling a professional he is finished, in a room, on a Wednesday, and coaching the other fifty two on Thursday like it never happened, is the job, and it has nothing to do with a scoreboard. Two blowouts have not moved me a foot
u/ChurchFestivalChuckera ended47 points3h
This is a fair argument and it is also entirely unfalsifiable until somebody gets cut in November and we see how the room reacts
u/Denny_VitaleHaslam is a football terrorist21 points3h
Yes. That is the test and it is coming and it is not in September
u/HalfCourtHeave12 points2h
Meyer got run out of a building in thirteen games doing the job he says only he understands. He is allowed to be right about the job and be the worst possible person to explain it

Twenty seven years of being lectured by men on television about what a real organization looks like. Every one of them would have taken this job in a second and about nine of them did take it and none of them could do it either. I am not going to pretend the objection is stupid and I am not going to be told about standards by the industry that sent us Hue Jackson
u/Sandusky_Sandy121 points3h
My brother is forty one and has coached high school ball in Elyria for sixteen years. Two jobs, six a.m., film in the garage, drives kids home. He has never said a word about any of this to me and last night he texted that he watched the whole thing and it was really good coaching, and then he did not reply for an hour. I do not think he is angry. I think it is just a lot
u/Marnie_Kozak๐งbrownie-elf61 points2h
This is the version of the argument nobody puts on television and it is the only one that has ever moved me
u/Sandusky_Sandy14 points2h
He texted again this morning. It said give it till November. That is the entire message
u/CribbageBoard_๐lake-erie-bros71 points3h
Every one of these guys opens by saying he has never met him and everybody who has says he is terrific. Four segments now, same sentence, and thirty seconds later it is an insult to the profession. I do not think they know they are all doing it
u/OvenMittBandit-11 points3h
Genuinely do not understand why people are upset. He is a legend of the sport who has forgotten more football than anyone here has watched and he complimented the coaching. Reading this thread you would think he insulted somebody's mother.
u/Twinsburg_Tanya๐งคward3 points2h
He said four hundred men deserved it more and not one got a call. That is not a compliment with a caveat, that is the point of the segment
u/OvenMittBandit-24 points2h
And he is correct about that as well. Both things can be said. I do not know why that is controversial here of all places.

It is Monday and I would like to talk about Thursday the first of October like a grown woman and I find that I cannotDiscussion
Eleven days. Pittsburgh, our building, national television, a Thursday night, and Denzel Ward comes out of that tunnel in the wrong colours having been paid for with two of their first round picks.
I have been doing this since 1979 and I have never had a game on my calendar this early. I did the shopping this morning and thought about it in the car park.
We have Carolina on Sunday first and they beat Atlanta badly and I have not thought about them once. That is a problem, I know it is a problem, and I am going to keep doing it.

Eleven days and this subreddit is going to spend nine of them pretending it is thinking about the Panthers. We will do the preview thread, forty people will say the right things about Bryce Young, and every single one of us will be looking at Thursday

I have already worked out that I am taking that Friday off and I have not told my wife

The Denzel Ward thing is going to be much worse than people are ready for. He did nothing wrong. He wanted out to a winner, the trade got made, we took a fortune for it, and on Thursday night he will be stood on our field being booed by people who had his jersey on in January
u/Marnie_KozakOP๐งbrownie-elf34 points2h
I will not be booing him and I do not think I get to tell anybody else what to do

Pittsburgh beat New England 30-3 yesterday. Same scoreline they took from Atlanta last Sunday, exactly, eight days apart. Our best joke of the season lasted six days and they took it back and used it on somebody else

Two things about Thursday nobody wants to hear yet. Short week after a home game, and Pittsburgh's front is a completely different problem to Vea. If we cannot run it against them either, that is three straight and it stops being a matchup and starts being the team
