Stickied by moderators: keep the trade grades in this thread. We have removed about two hundred comments this afternoon and most of them were about Pittsburgh, not about football.

That is apparently how you get two firsts now

correct

First thing this front office has done that a normal front office would also have done.
u/KeepPoundingKurtPanthers11 points4h
That is a low bar and it took a front office in this division seven months to get over it.

Update: Cleveland has traded CB Denzel Ward to Pittsburgh for first-round selections in 2027 and 2028. The Browns also receive a 2029 conditional fourth that becomes a third if Ward plays 60 percent of Pittsburgh's defensive snaps, and Pittsburgh receives a 2030 seventh. Mansour said the framework was built by four members of his personnel staff, named all four, spelled two of them out loud, and then apologised for spelling them.
u/AllegheneyGregSteelers2.6k points6h
spelled two of them out loud 💀

u/BigBlueBiscuitGiants35 points5h

u/wr_room_watcherPatriots48 points5h
Fifty catches for 602 yards brought back a third round pick. That is two good trades in one week for a franchise that has had four in twenty years
u/SteelCityStephanieSteelers17 points5h
Do not say two. Do not put that number near this franchise on a Tuesday.
u/dawgpound_danaBrowns31 points5h
He said the coach was not a real coach three weeks ago and the coach has not said one syllable about him since. Watch that gap all season

u/HeinzFieldForeverSteelers1.8k points6h
I have been told this is what going for it feels like
u/PurpleReignPatRavens147 points6h
You are a nine and eight football team that now has a corner and no picks.
u/HeinzFieldForeverSteelers82 points5h
Correct, and we will be 9-8 with a corner in January too
u/JungleNoiseJoeBengals96 points6h
Pittsburgh looked at a 29 year old on the biggest defensive back contract ever written and thought what if we also gave up two firsts
u/SteelToeSteveSteelers29 points5h
yes

No. Leave it up
u/StarOnTheHelmet_Cowboys40 points5h
Master of none of the other ones as far as anybody knows
u/newtofootball202530 points4h
Why is a first round pick two years out worth more than one next year? I thought further away was supposed to be worse
u/TitanUpToddTitans22 points4h
Further out is less certain, so it can land better or worse than a known pick. Two of them in different years is a hedge. You get two swings and neither one depends on how a single season goes
u/newtofootball202510 points3h
That makes sense, thank you. I appreciate people being decent about a beginner question.
u/VikingsVincentPVikings9 points4h
Also a lot of people in this thread would pay money to watch Pittsburgh be bad in 2027 and that is worth something on its own
u/BourbonStBreesSaints5 points3h
Nobody knows. That is the honest answer and it is why everybody argues about it every March
u/SkolPatrolSamVikings22 points5h
Pittsburgh had eleven picks over the next three drafts and now they have nine, and they are 32nd in cap space in 2027. That is a real cost and nobody up there wants to hear it today.
u/YinzerAndBoredSteelers9 points4h
We do not want to hear it today.
[deleted]19 points5h

u/BearsFanBoilingBears10 points5h
He was right about the 2029 pick and wrong about everything he attached to it
u/whoeven_readsthis3 points4h
What did it say. I got here about twenty minutes too late for all of this.
u/HoustonHardHatTexans16 points5h
Trading inside your own division is what I find odd. Cleveland has to play him twice a year now and watch him take the number one receiver away.
u/elyria_edgarBrowns8 points4h
We do not have a number one receiver problem, we have a number one everything problem.
u/RamHornRogerRams16 points5h
We gave up a first, a second and a third for Garrett in June and everybody said Cleveland got fleeced. Two months later they have four first round picks in two drafts.
u/SoCalSheepDogRams7 points4h
Verse is going to be a problem for ten years and none of that changes what I just said.
u/EaglesEddiePEagles13 points5h
Nine and a half. Against a team that won thirteen games. That is a real number and this sub is going to bet it anyway.
u/just_here_for_rostersSeahawksCowboys12 points4h
Their corner room is now Tyson Campbell, a safety who was converted to boundary in July, and Grant Delpit in the big slot. Against Trevor Lawrence. In the heat.
u/DuvalDebJaguars6 points4h
We are going to throw it forty times and I have accepted it.
u/ChiefsKingdomCarlChiefs10 points4h
Two firsts for a corner gets a general manager fired in Pittsburgh in 2028 and nobody will remember why.
u/ColtsCommentCarlColts10 points4h
People keep saying Pittsburgh overpaid. Pittsburgh has one corner and a defense built to play man behind a four man rush. They did not overpay for what they need, they overpaid for when they need it.
u/EasternShoreRavenRavens5 points4h
This is the only take in here with a thought behind it.
u/CommandersCommuteCommanders9 points4h
Genuine question, does Cleveland have any veterans left at all on that defense after this
u/dawgpound_danaBrowns8 points4h
Delpit, Quincy Williams, Campbell. That is it and two of the three are new to their positions.
u/FaithfulFrankie4949ers8 points4h
Everybody in this thread is arguing about a corner and the funniest part of the week is that a rookie center is going to snap the ball to Shedeur Sanders in Jacksonville on Sunday.
u/GeauxFigureItOutSaints8 points4h
We could not get a fourth for anybody last spring and Cleveland got two firsts for a corner who wanted out. Somebody in our building should be watching film of the phone call.
u/FoxboroFogHornPatriots8 points4h
I have no feelings about the Browns at all and I have now read about them for eight straight months.
u/whodey_or_whateverBengals19 points4h
This is the actual national experience of the 2026 season
u/DirtyBirdDionFalcons7 points4h
Hopkins signing there made no sense to me in July and it makes less sense now that the corner is gone.
u/H_TownHopkinsFanTexans4 points3h
He has done stranger. He will get 90 targets and be gone by March.
u/medina_mark_88Browns7 points4h
The two thousand twenty seven pick is protected by nothing at all as far as anybody has reported, which means if Pittsburgh has an eleven win season it is a pick in the mid twenties and this whole thread ages strangely.
u/ChiefsKingdomCarlChiefs7 points4h
Every team in this league has a corner they are paying like a top five player who has not been a top five player in three years, and almost none of them will get a phone call about it.
u/NinerEmpireNick49ers7 points4h
I would like somebody to explain the salary side of this because Ward was on the largest defensive back contract ever signed and Pittsburgh has not been shy about telling everybody how disciplined they are.
u/elyria_edgarBrowns5 points4h
Cleveland is eating a portion of it. That was in the second wire post and nobody read the second wire post.
u/TealTeamSixJaxJaguars6 points4h
Coen has not lost a home opener and I am not about to start planning for it now.
u/KeepPoundingKurtPanthers6 points4h
Every year one team makes two trades in a week and everybody decides they are smart, and then it is October.
u/boring_takes_onlyCommanders6 points4h
The 2028 pick is the one that matters. 2027 Pittsburgh is probably still a playoff team. 2028 Pittsburgh has a 40 year old quarterback question and very little behind Ward at the position.
u/capologist_19723 points3h
Correct and this is the part everyone skips.
u/CommandersCommuteCommanders6 points4h
My honest read is that this is a fine trade for both teams and that the internet has decided it needs a winner because it is the last week of August and there is nothing else on.
u/FalconFeatherFrankFalcons6 points4h
Our front office has not made a trade of consequence since the Julio deal and I read every one of these threads like a man watching other people eat.
u/DuvalDarylJaguars6 points4h
Watching Cleveland do this two weeks out from playing us is not what I wanted from my August, and I am aware that is a strange thing to be annoyed about.
u/BucsInTheAtticBuccaneers5 points4h
Anybody have the full trade terms, the wire posts all disagree with each other
u/BereaWireDesk4 points3h
Two firsts. That is the whole thing. Everything else you have seen today is people doing bits.
u/BucsInTheAtticBuccaneers3 points3h
I fell for one of them
u/GreenBayGrayBeardPackers5 points4h
I remember when a first round pick for a corner was considered insane. Champ Bailey went for a running back and a second.
u/MileHighMitchellBroncos3 points3h
And we won that trade for about six years.
u/SkolPatrolSamVikings5 points4h
Denzel Ward has been an excellent player for eight seasons and about four people in this thread have mentioned it, which tells you what these threads are for.
u/RavensRoostRayRavensRavens5 points4h
He is the best pure man corner in this division and has been since he came into the league. I have watched him take our best receiver away twice a year for most of a decade.
u/BengalsInFiveAgainBengals5 points3h
We now have to prepare for him twice a year in a scheme that will let him travel, which is worse for us than anything Cleveland did or did not get back.
u/JetsInJanuary_Jets5 points3h
The thing people keep missing is that Cleveland has to replace him with a converted safety and a slot player who is really a safety, and that is a defense with no outside answer at all.
u/SoCalSheepDogRams5 points3h
I have watched four hundred hours of tape on our new defensive end this month because I am unwell, and I can report that he is very good and that none of this is relevant here.
u/SilverAndBleaklyRaiders4 points4h
Cleveland is going to be 3-14 and have four first round picks and everybody in here will call it a masterclass in March.
u/LionsShareOfPainLions4 points4h
Two firsts for a corner. Meanwhile my team traded a first for a receiver who has caught eleven balls.
u/JetsFanAtWork_Jets4 points4h
Our front office read this news, nodded, and went back to whatever it is they do in there all day.
u/EaglesEddiePEagles4 points3h
Two firsts is the number everybody is looking at and the 2028 one is the one that will decide whether this was a good trade, and none of us will remember to check.
u/HoustonHardHatTexans4 points3h
Serious answer to the people asking about the corner room, Tyson Campbell has been a fine number two his whole career and is now a number one, which is how it always goes.
u/GreenBayGrayBeardPackers4 points3h
There was a time when trading inside your own division was considered close to disqualifying and now it happens three or four times a year and nobody blinks at it.
u/BucsInTheAtticBuccaneers4 points3h
Every one of these threads has one guy who has clearly worked in a front office and eleven hundred of us, and the one guy always gets forty points and no replies.
u/PhinPhanaticPhilDolphins3 points4h
Ward has missed at least three games in six of eight seasons. That is not nothing on a two first haul.
u/ThreeRiversThrowSteelers2 points3h
We are aware of the injury history and we did it anyway. Please stop.
u/seventeen_gamesColts3 points4h
Third year in a row the biggest trade of the summer has been a Browns trade and I do not know what to make of that.
u/HailToTheHikeCommanders3 points3h
How many first round picks does Cleveland have in 2027 now, I have lost count and I am not being funny
u/elyria_edgarBrowns2 points3h
Three. Ours, the Rams pick from the Garrett deal, and now Pittsburgh's.
u/HailToTheHikeCommanders2 points3h
That is a lot of picks.
u/RedSeaRickACardinals3 points3h
I would like the record to show that I said in January that he might be able to do the personnel half of this. I also said he would go 2-15.
u/LionsShareOfPainLions3 points3h
I am going to be honest, until this week I could not have told you Denzel Ward was still on the Browns and I watch a great deal of football.
u/TwoToneBlueSteveTitans3 points3h
We should have called about him in March when the reporting first came out, and I say that knowing full well our front office lets the machine get it.
u/GeauxFigureItOutSaints3 points3h
Somebody in this thread said Pittsburgh has nine picks over three years and I have now spent forty minutes checking it, which is my whole evening gone.
u/eastside_evan3 points3h
Reading through this whole thread and the honest summary is that everybody thinks the trade is good and nobody has changed their mind about anything else, which is where most of us have been since January.
u/gridiron_ledger3 points3h
For what it is worth Cleveland now holds three first round picks in 2027 and two in 2028, and the last team to sit on that many was Houston, and that went the way it went.
u/ProcessOverPanic2 points5h
This is a bad trade for Cleveland. Ward is one of the four best players at his position and picks are lottery tickets. You are all celebrating paper.
u/berea_bill_Browns78 points5h
he asked out
u/ProcessOverPanic-4 points5h
He asked out because the roster is bad. Fix the roster and he stays. Trading him makes the roster worse, which is the point I keep making and keep getting buried for.
u/BoltsBrandonLChargers103 points4h
You have discovered the rebuild
u/ProcessOverPanic-19 points4h
I have watched this league for thirty years and I have never seen a fanbase this thrilled to be worse on purpose.
u/DetroitDeliRonLionsLions55 points4h
welcome
u/capologist_19722 points4h
The cap charge on this is worse than any of you think and not one person in this thread has opened Spotrac today.
u/CheeseheadChadPackers29 points4h
Post it then. Nobody in here has ever once posted the numbers when asked.
u/capologist_19724 points3h
I will when I am off work.
u/SeaOfBlueGreenSeahawks2 points3h
Does anybody know what the conditions on the 2029 pick are or was that made up in this thread
u/pedantic_but_correct2 points3h
Made up in this thread. There is no 2029 pick.
u/ArrowheadAlleyChiefs2 points3h
Slow news week apparently. I checked three sites this morning and every one of them led with Cleveland.
u/SoxSideSundayBears2 points3h
My team has not made an interesting trade since I was in middle school and I am reading Browns threads at work.
u/first_time_poster_442 points3h
Long time lurker. Is there a good place to read about how the compensation works on these deals or is it all just vibes and a chart from 1991
u/TwoToneBlueSteveTitans2 points2h
It is the chart from 1991. Everyone still uses the chart from 1991.
u/BigBlueBasementGiants2 points3h
Between this and Jeudy the Browns have made two moves in five days and I still have them last in the division.
u/WhoDatWednesdaySaints2 points3h
Anybody else notice the wire posts on this all went out within about ninety seconds of each other
u/EaglesEddiePEagles2 points3h
The Eagles have not called anybody about anything since March and I am starting to take it personally.
u/BoltUpBrianChargers2 points2h
I keep waiting for the second half of this story where it turns out they also sent a second and everybody laughs.
u/NickelCityNickBills2 points2h
We need corner help and I would not have given up two firsts, I would have given up one and a player.
u/PurpleAndBruisedVikings2 points2h
Reading this whole thread and the only thing I have learned is that GetGo car washes are bad.
u/third_shift_footballRaiders2 points2h
Working nights and this is the first football news in months that made me open the app twice.
u/JungleNoiseJoeBengals2 points2h
We play them twice a year and I have no idea what their defense is supposed to be now.
u/StarOnTheHelmet_Cowboys2 points2h
Every year I say I am done caring about other teams transactions and every year August happens.
u/HoustonHardHatTexans2 points2h
Serious question, is Delpit any good in the slot or is that a thing they are hoping about
u/GreenBayGrayBeardPackers2 points2h
A 2027 first from Pittsburgh could be pick eighteen or it could be pick four and that spread is the whole argument in here.
u/SoCalSheepDogRams2 points2h
Verse for Garrett looked bad in June and looks a lot less bad in August, which is what everybody said would happen.
u/PhinsUpPhinsDownDolphins2 points2h
People keep bringing up our dead cap in Browns threads and I would like it noted that we did not hold a press conference about ours.
u/BuffaloBillsBrendaBills2 points2h
Two firsts for a corner in a league where corners miss four games a year and everybody treats the pick chart like a law of physics.
u/BearsFanBoilingBears2 points2h
Our front office is watching this and taking notes, which is the single most frightening sentence I have typed this year.
u/BigBlueBasementGiants2 points2h
Cleveland has now made two trades this week that both look fine and I refuse to say anything nicer than fine about a four win team.
u/StarOnTheHelmet_Cowboys2 points2h
Ward wanted out in February, everybody covering the team said so, and it still took until the last week of August for anything to happen. That is normal and it should not be.
u/TealTeamSixJaxJaguars2 points2h
Reading this and thinking about the fact that we have to go win a football game against these people on Sunday in front of forty two thousand.
u/BoltsBrandonLChargers2 points1h
I have no read on their front office at all and I refuse to invent one off a trade in August.
u/SeaOfBlueGreenSeahawks2 points1h
Somebody in here said the coach spelled two names out loud and I have been thinking about it for an hour and I do not know why.
u/brookpark_benBrowns2 points3h
We have not won a playoff game since 2020 and I have watched every single snap of that stretch, so forgive me for enjoying one Tuesday in August.
u/afc_north_watcher2 points3h
Pittsburgh has now spent a first on a receiver, a second on a corner and two firsts on this corner in about eighteen months, which is a lot of movement for a team that talks about stability constantly.
u/bedford_heights_billBrowns2 points3h
The corner room being Campbell, Savage and Delpit against Trevor Lawrence in ninety degree heat is the single scariest sentence available to me this week.
u/sunday_ticket_sam2 points2h
I have no idea whether this front office is any good and neither does anybody in this thread, and we are going to spend four months finding out in public.
u/boxscore_bill2 points2h
Ward played 91 percent of the defensive snaps last year and graded out in the top fifteen at the position, for anybody looking for actual information in here.
u/garfield_hts_gregBrowns2 points2h
My father has had these seats since 1981 and he called me about this trade before he called me about my sister moving.
u/latenight_lurker2 points2h
Every August I tell myself I am going to stop reading other teams transaction threads and every August I am in one at midnight.
u/the_quiet_part2 points2h
Nobody has mentioned that Cleveland still has to sign a corner off the street before Sunday and they are going to, and it will be somebody we have all heard of.
u/scroll_and_leave2 points2h
I opened this thread expecting one hundred jokes and got about ninety jokes and ten people doing real work, which is the correct ratio.
u/RaiderRexOnMainRaiders2 points2h
Our front office would have taken a fourth and a conditional and told the press it was about culture.
u/midwest_matt_1 point1h
Genuine congratulations to Cleveland from a fanbase that has never once been on the good end of one of these.
u/apathy_enjoyer1 point1h
I am supposed to care about this and I do not, and I am posting anyway, which I understand is the problem.
u/PewterPiratePBuccaneers1 point1h
Somebody make a list of every first round pick Cleveland has traded for in the last two years because I have lost the thread entirely.
u/cold_open_carl1 point1h
The single funniest thing in this whole thread is a man from Buffalo describing a car wash in extreme detail to nine hundred people.

HE MADE A PRO BOWL 💀

We know. We watched all seven of them
u/JetsJetsJets_88Jets64 points4h
We would take him tomorrow and every person in my city knows it.
u/GangGreenGusJets28 points3h
We are not allowed to say that out loud anymore
u/BereaWireDesk6.1k points4h
Update: The Browns have named Shedeur Sanders the Week 1 starter. Sanders will take the first snap from under center out of 13 personnel behind a rookie center and a rookie right tackle, and has been issued a wristband with 340 plays on it. Mansour said the decision was made in March. Asked why the competition ran another five months, he said he did not want to be the guy who announces things.
u/PackerPeteAgainPackers640 points4h
340 is the number that got me
u/BereaWireDesk90 points3h
It is 341 now
u/ChiefsKingdomCarlChiefs28 points3h
why though
u/DuvalDarylJaguars142 points4h
He did not want to be the guy who announces things 💀
u/NeverDoubtJaxJaguars35 points3h
Gladstone would have announced it, elevated it, and put a hashtag on it
u/BearsFanBoilingBears54 points4h
I got three sentences in
u/lurker_since_201214 points3h
Everybody did. Playing it completely straight is the whole trick and people keep missing it.
u/ShieldWatcherNFL2.9k points4h
The most argued about player in football is now coached by the second most argued about person in football
u/RedSeaRickACardinals139 points4h
And they open in ninety degree heat against the best run defense in the league
u/DuvalDebJaguars53 points3h
ninety four
u/NinerEmpireNick49ers101 points4h
CBS has the QBR graphic built and has had it built since Tuesday
u/graphics_guy_tvJets27 points3h
We build those in July and we build three versions of them for every team.
u/NeverDoubtJaxJaguars2.1k points4h
Minus nine and a half is a trap and I am walking directly into it
u/BillsBenchBrianBills131 points4h
Ninety seven degrees and twenty two people in the hospital. That game is on tape and it was in that stadium
u/TealTeamSixJaxJaguars72 points3h
We call that home field
u/WideRightWayneBills18 points3h
We call it a war crime
u/ohiodawg_44Browns45 points4h
Five rookies starting, a converted safety at corner, and it is going to be ninety four degrees. Take the points and go outside
u/DuvalDebJaguars13 points3h
This is the most honest Browns fan I have seen all year
u/AllegheneyGregSteelers1.4k points4h
They traded the best corner in the division to us and named the worst starting quarterback of the last five years in the same week. I refuse to guess what this front office is doing
u/lakewood_larryBrowns124 points4h
Neither of those sentences is wrong and holding them together is the most Cleveland thing available
u/AllegheneyGregSteelers39 points3h
that is fair and I am not going to pretend I have a better read on it than you do
u/FlockAroundFindOutRavens73 points4h
He might be a decent evaluator. He also has to call plays on Sunday and those are not the same job
u/RaiderRexOnMainRaiders27 points3h
This is where most of the league is and it is not an unreasonable place to be
u/elyria_edgarBrowns10 points3h
It is where most of Cleveland is too
u/TitanUpToddTitans402 points4h
Good. Let him play
u/GeauxFigureItOutSaints71 points3h
Four words and I agree with all of them
u/DetroitDeliRonLionsLions181 points4h
Shadeur to Hopkins on a nine route in Jacksonville heat is going to be either the best or worst thing I see in September
u/boring_takes_onlyCommanders63 points4h
Sheduar
u/ColtsCommentCarlColts22 points3h
It is Shedeur. One d, before the e. You have all had two years and a full draft cycle to get this
u/PatriotPaulieNEPatriots3 points3h
Shadeur
u/ColtsCommentCarlColts2 points2h
Yes, alright
u/PewterPiratePBuccaneers39 points4h
Hopkins is going to catch ninety balls on a four win team and I will be watching all ninety
u/CardinalSinner_Cardinals18 points3h
He has done that before
u/H_TownHopkinsFanTexans9 points3h
He has done that twice before
u/SandersDefenseForce162 points4h
Seven starts as a rookie on a four win team in front of five linemen who put two quarterbacks in the medical tent, and you people decided in April of 2025 and have not moved since.
u/PhinPhanaticPhilDolphins113 points4h
Everybody had a bad line. The interceptions were his
u/SandersDefenseForce34 points3h
Ten in seven behind that group is not the outlier you are treating it as.
u/PhinPhanaticPhilDolphins19 points3h
It is exactly the outlier I am treating it as
u/BurgundyBurnerBenCommanders75 points4h
The people who are tired of him and the people who hate him are two different groups and this website cannot tell them apart
u/just_here_for_laughsCardinals13 points3h
Yeah exactly this
u/KeepPoundingKurtPanthers46 points4h
I have no stake in this at all and I have heard this man's name every day for two years
u/FalconFeatherFrankFalcons24 points3h
Same. I could not name my own team's third receiver and I know his completion percentage
u/BroadStreetBirdBrainEagles122 points4h
Lmao this roster
u/wr_room_watcherPatriots62 points3h
What happens to Gabriel here. He was the one taking first team reps in the last open practice anybody reported on.
u/berea_bill_Browns32 points3h
He backs up. That is the whole answer and it is fine.
u/wr_room_watcherPatriots10 points3h
Feels like there should be more to it than that after the way this whole thing was covered in July.
u/dawgpound_danaBrowns7 points2h
There is not. There is almost never more to it.
u/RamHornRogerRams18 points3h
Seven touchdowns and ten picks in seven games is bad. It is also seven games. I do not know why this has to be a personality for anybody.
u/VikingsVincentPVikings8 points3h
Because he is the most clipped player in the sport and the clips pay.
u/third_shift_footballRaiders16 points3h
Anybody who watched the Colorado tape knows what the issue is. He holds it. He holds it because he trusts himself more than he trusts the read and he is often correct and occasionally very wrong.
u/BengalsInFiveAgainBengals6 points2h
That is a Brady comparison he has made himself and it did not go well for him last time he said it out loud.
u/BearDownBrendanBears15 points3h
Five rookies starting for a team that won four games. That is not a quarterback decision, that is a franchise deciding to find out.
u/TwelfthAndLoudSeahawks12 points3h
There are eleven days between this announcement and kickoff and this website is going to spend all eleven of them on it.
u/CommandersCommuteCommanders10 points3h
How is the offensive line supposed to hold up. Rookie center, rookie right tackle, and Jacksonville was first against the run.
u/just_here_for_rostersSeahawksCowboys8 points2h
It is not supposed to hold up. That is the year.
u/GMenGrindGiants9 points3h
We just traded for their unhappy receiver and I am now invested in this team for no reason.
u/KingdomComeKyleChiefs9 points3h
Every August somebody names a starter and every October we find out it did not matter who.
u/LionsShareOfPainLions8 points3h
I like him. I have always liked him. I also think the numbers are the numbers and both things can sit there.
u/GangGreenGarrettJets8 points3h
The interception number gets quoted constantly and the pressure to sack conversion behind that line never does.
u/DirtyBirdDionFalcons7 points3h
People are going to watch this game who have not watched a Browns game since 2007.
u/BattleRedRonTexans4 points2h
People are going to watch this game who have never watched a game.
u/EasternShoreRavenRavens7 points2h
We play them in week six and by then either the line has settled or he is on the ground eleven times and everybody has an opinion about a rookie center.
u/PackerPeteAgainPackers7 points2h
I have watched every quarterback naming press conference in this league for twenty years and they are all the same four sentences, and this one apparently was not, which is why it is here.
u/medina_mark_88Browns7 points2h
What I keep coming back to is that Gabriel took first team reps for three straight days in the last practice anybody was allowed to watch, and then this.
u/MafiaTableForSixBillsBills6 points3h
Is Taylen Green in the mix at all or is he a sixth round quarterback the internet has decided is interesting
u/dawgpound_danaBrowns3 points2h
The second one. He is fun in shorts.
u/BroadStreetBirdBrainEagles6 points2h
Nine and a half points on the road in September heat with five rookies starting is one of those lines that looks free and takes your money anyway.
u/BattleRedRonTexans6 points2h
Hopkins is going to be the most targeted receiver on that team by week four and it will not be close and it will not matter.
u/FaithfulFrankie4949ers5 points3h
This is the only quarterback situation in the league where the coach is a bigger story than the quarterback and the quarterback is Shedeur Sanders.
u/SilverAndBleaklyRaiders5 points2h
Every year there is one team where the story is bigger than the football and it is exhausting for everybody except the people selling the story.
u/DetroitDeliRonLionsLions5 points2h
Seven starts is nothing. Josh Allen was unplayable for a year and a half and everybody has agreed to forget that because it turned out well.
u/BillsBenchBrianBills4 points2h
We remember. We remember every week of it and we do not want to talk about it.
u/RedSeaRickACardinals4 points3h
I would like one week where the Browns do nothing so I can think about my own team.
u/SteelCityStephanieSteelers4 points3h
We have Ward now so I am contractually required to be pleasant about Cleveland for seven days.
u/ArrowheadAlleyChiefs4 points2h
This is the fifth straight August where Cleveland has named a starter and every single one of them has been treated as a referendum on something larger.
u/CardinalSinner_Cardinals4 points1h
I would rather watch a bad young quarterback play seventeen games than a competent veteran play twelve, and I think most people would if they were honest.
u/SilverAndBleaklyRaiders3 points2h
Shedur is going to throw for 240 and two picks and everybody in here will have their post ready to go.
u/WhoDatWednesdaySaints3 points2h
Genuine question, did he ever lose the job or did the previous staff just not want to be the ones to hand it to him
u/parma_heights_patBrowns2 points2h
The second one, and everybody here knew it in November.
u/HailToTheHikeCommanders3 points1h
Somebody needs to explain to me how a team with a hundred and seventeen million in dead money has a receiver room this good.
u/westpark_wendyBrowns2 points1h
Rookie contracts and a veteran who took less than he should have. That is the whole answer and it took me four months to accept it.
u/GangGreenGusJets3 points1h
I would like to formally state that our quarterback situation is worse than this one and nobody in here has mentioned us all day.
u/CheeseheadChadPackers2 points2h
I have watched two of his seven starts and I have opinions like I watched all seven.
u/HorseshoeHaroldColts2 points2h
The line is nine and a half and the total is forty and a half. That total tells you what Vegas thinks of this offense.
u/BucsInTheAtticBuccaneers2 points2h
Hopkins, Concepcion and Boston is a fine receiver room and nobody talks about it because of who is throwing.
u/TwelfthAndLoudSeahawks2 points1h
Naming him eleven days out is fine. Naming him in March and saying nothing for five months would have been unusual and also very funny.
u/PurpleAndBruisedVikings2 points1h
CBS is going to say the number eighteen point nine about nine times on Sunday and I will be keeping a tally.
u/first_time_poster_441 point2h
Where do you all watch out of market games. I have been paying for something I do not think I need.
u/FoxboroFogHornPatriots1 point2h
Wrong thread but the answer is you are being robbed either way.
u/BoltsBrandonLChargers1 point2h
Two years ago this is the only thing anybody talks about for a month and today it is the second item on a Tuesday.
u/SkolFromTheCouchVikings1 point2h
Everybody forgets he was on the board until the fourth round and nine teams passed twice.
u/pedantic_but_correct1 point2h
It was the fourth round. 144th overall, and eleven quarterbacks went before him.
u/StarOnTheHelmet_Cowboys1 point2h
We would have taken him at 24 and everybody in Texas knows it.
u/PotomacPunterPeteCommanders1 point2h
This is going to be the most watched one o'clock game of the week and it is Browns Jaguars.
u/KeepPoundingKurtPanthers1 point1h
Anybody know if the Jaguars are healthy on that line or is that just camp talk
u/seventeen_gamesColts1 point1h
The best case for this year is that he plays seventeen games and everybody finds out one way or the other.
u/JungleNoiseJoeBengals1 point1h
Naming him now instead of Saturday is the only part of this I find interesting and I cannot tell you why.
u/whodey_or_whateverBengals1 point1h
We have to play both of these teams this year and I have thought about the Browns more this August than I have thought about my own roster.
u/KeepPoundingKurtPanthers1 point1h
There is a version of this season where he throws for thirty five hundred yards and twenty picks and everybody keeps their exact same opinion.
u/straight_shooter_2008-12 points3h
He is a nepotism hire, he was a nepotism hire in college, and he will be out of this league inside two years. None of you can say it because of who his father is.
u/strongsville_steveBrowns89 points3h
he was at Colorado
u/straight_shooter_2008-34 points3h
Same thing.
u/LambeauLoitererPackers52 points2h
It is not, and you know it is not, and that is why you typed three words.

We took an entire level off the stadium and we are still going to be louder than eleven teams in this league on Sunday.
u/stadium_nerd_44Patriots4 points5h
Is the 400 level coming back or is that permanent. I cannot find a straight answer anywhere.
u/TealTeamSixJaxJaguars3 points4h
It comes back in 2028. They are rebuilding the whole thing around us while we play in it, which is apparently a normal thing to do now.

42,507 is smaller than two stadiums in my state and one of them has a marching band budget.
